In Katrina Halili's case, whatever nasty rumors hurled against her by detractors still prove to be positive in her career. She became controversial in issues regarding her character, sexual preference and romantic involvement with someone. Yet her charm to fans did not even wane.

"I believe in karma. I don't mind people who try to break me. Instead of confronting them, I just pray and leave it all to God, that is why I'm blessed with a lot of projects now," Katrina says.

Good karma is happening to Katrina these days as she gets to play a wholesome role on GMA 7's Atlantika as Princess Helena, flaunting a sexy image on FHM magazine and endorsing various products. She will be launched in a movie via Regal Entertainment's sexy romantic comedy Gigil to be shown on Nov. 22.

In Gigil, Katrina plays China , a call center employee about to marry her fiancé Don (Boom Antonio). But the wedding did not push through because Don turns out to be gay. This made China and best friend Denoy (Say Alonzo) go to Boracay to get over the former's heartache. There, they meet Felix (Alfred Vargas) who makes China 's bad impression on men change and makes her heart fall in love again.

"I'm nervous and excited in my launching picture. I hope people will like Gigil as they will see a different Katrina here. I will do comedy and at the same time there's just a little bit of sexiness. The movie is PG-13 so it won't be that sexy," she explains.

Katrina reveals that the sexiest part of the movie is her kissing scenes with Alfred which she says she felt awkward doing during the shoot. She just followed direk Jun Lana's instructions to act as if she's really in love, not with Alfred but with the character.

Asked how does it feel working with other stars of Gigil, Katrina says, "We had a fun time on the set. Say and I hit it off well."

The movie also stars Bianca King, Ketchup Eusebio and Gabb Drilon.

The 20-year-old StarStruck Batch One Avenger also denies rumors that she has a gap with Isabel Oli for allegedly trying to touch Paolo Contis.

"That's not true, I did not do that to Paolo and I cannot do such act to any other guy," she says.

Katrina also explains in the recently-held presscon that she did not kiss Sandara Park intentionally. She was just in a playful mood during the shoot of Super Noypi that she acted to kiss Sandara on the lips.

"Sandara is my friend. I was just joking. I'm not a lesbian," Katrina defends herself.

Katrina is also being linked to other guys like Bullet Jalosjos. She clarifies that Bullet is just a friend and no romantic strings are attached.

"I'm loveless. I guess guys are intimidated with my status," FHM's No. 1 sexiest says.

Katrina is not just for film and TV. She is also a Tanduay endorser. She will soon release a music video done in a sexy but artistic way under the direction of Rico Gutierrez. With various commitments on TV, film and advertising, Katrina just stays home to relax during her free time.

"I'm a homebody. Sometimes, I just invite friends to my place and confide in them everything that bothers me. Gimik for me is having coffee or eating out with friends," she says.

As a dutiful daughter, Katrina gave her endorsement talent fee to her mother who is managing a business in Palawan .

Only on her second year in showbiz, Katrina is thankful for so much blessings coming her way. She believes that by not getting back at her detractors, good karma happens. And it does.

CARL John Barrameda gained fame with his first major TV appearance in “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay” as the young John Lloyd Cruz. Since then, Carl John realized that his real passion is acting. Since then he was seen as a regular of ABS-CBN shows like Arriba, Arriba and Mga Anghel na Walang Langit and a lot more. He was also cast in Piolo Pascual starrer in Till There Was You and Vhong Navarro Mr. Suave.

This Goin Bulilit mainstay manages to continue his studies despite his busy schedule. He is a student of National College of Business and Arts. Carl John celebrated his 13th birthday last October 12.

THE amazing underwater saga, “Atlantika,” has become more interesting with the kid characters now all grownups. Isabel Oli as Alona becomes a housemaid in the home of the crazy Remedios (Cherry Pie Picache) who thinks Alona is her missing daughter, Amaya. Iza Calzado as Cielo supports her crippled mom (Janice Jurado) by working as a lavandera for Helen (Katrina Halili). Her mom is often beaten up her cruel Tiyo Roman (Ronnie Lazaro) and he asks her friend Ompong (Biboy Ramirez) to help her join a singing contest so she can win some money for her mom.

In Atlantika, Valerie Concepcion as Elisa has become known as Prinsesa Amaya and, after ten years, is about to be reunited with her father, Barracud (Ariel Rivera.) Dingdong Dantes as Aquano competes in the contest for senturyons and disguises himself as a laborer, Esure. This is part of his plan to avenge the death of his dad in the hands of Barracud. He will be competing with the evil Piranus (Paolo Contis), who becomes his chief rival, and he will be joined by friend Eno (Arthur Solinap) and Xera (Bianca King.) The fight between Aquano and Piranus becomes fierce and Piranus tries to cheat to win. In the end, they will both chosen as members of the new senturyons.
