JAKE STILL MUM ABOUT ROXANNE

JAKE Cuenca considers “Palos” with Cesar Montano as his biggest break so far. “I'm really thankful to ABS-CBN for giving me this project,” he says.”

But what can he say to rumors that he's a fair-haired boy at ABS only because he's into a relationship with one of its big wheels and that other ABS stars resent him because he has overtaken them when he's just a transferee from GMA7?

“I'm not bothered kasi hindi naman totoo. My work speaks for itself. At nakikita naman siguro ‘yun ng ABS. Whenever they assign me something, talagang ibinubuhos ko roon lahat ng effort ko, time and attention. I'm sure nakita nila iyon kaya pinagtiwalaan nila ako with a project like ‘Palos'.

As for the other ABS stars, I have yet to meet someone who'd show na they envy me. Also, hindi sila dapat magalit sa akin dahil this is healthy competition at hindi ko naman hiningi ito. I really worked hard for it and I'm just glad that management noticed all my efforts. Kung may mga nalampasan man ako, siguro suwerte ko talaga, tulad din ng magandang suwerte ko sa pagsasama namin ni Cesar Montano sa ‘Palos'. We worked together in Macau for six days. I really learned so much from him dahil he gave me a lot of advice.”

Did Cesar give him advice about affairs of the heart since they're in the same boat right now, with him said to have broken up with Roxanne Guinoo and Cesar, with Sunshine Cruz? “No, it's all about acting and how to improve our craft. Sa love, siya nga ang humihingi ng advice sa 'kin,” he laughs.

“As for Roxanne, she's one of my four leading ladies in ‘Palos, along with Carla Humphries, Bangs Garcia and Bench winner Regine Angeles. Okay naman kami sa set kasi may pinagsamahan naman kami. But sorry, there are some things about it that I cannot share with you. Sa'min na lang ‘yun and I hope you understand.”
